A Halloween Story
Aracia just couldn’t understand what went wrong.
She liked everyone and everything and tried to go along with how everyone thought she should act, but still, as of even this second, nobody wanted to be around her.
Aracia had no friends and an over abundance of enemies. Even society’s worse of the worse, avoided her. She was often walked on and when seen, some people were openly rude and ran away from her. Little boys threw sticks, stones, and rocks at her, hoping to hurt her mortally.
Her children whom she protected and did all the right things to ensure they grew up healthy never came to visit and knew she could never see her grandchildren, ever!
Sitting and rocking to and fro, Aracia started thinking about her many attempts at marriage, but the groom always tragically died. She was glad that people believed the deaths were a natural phenomenon. Aracia was lonely -- so lonely and sad. It wasn’t easy to live her life the way she had to endure living it.
Wiping away a tear, she thought to herself, “It isn’t easy being a Black Widow Spider and stuck in a web of my own design.”
“Oh Look! Someone is coming up the walk for dinner --- it’s children coming for Trick or Treat, and I must hurry and wrap this up!”
