THE "GREY LADY" OF RUTHIN CASTLE, CLWYD, NORTH WALES. 33 DEGREE |
"There are many different stories surrounding the Castle ghost, known locally as the 'Grey Lady', as she is dressed from head to foot in grey. The most popular of these stories is that she was the wife of the second in command at the Castle when it was a fortress and was inhabited by the armies of Edward I.
The 'Grey Lady' discovered that her powerful husband was having an affair with a local lady so she took the necessary action and murdered her husband's lover with an axe. When her dreadful deed was discovered, the 'Grey Lady' was sentenced to death. As she could not be buried in a church yard(as this was considered consecrated ground)it was decided that she be buried just outside the Castle walls and her grave can be seen to this day.
However, she has never settled and can be seen roaming the Castle battlements, the old Chapel of the Castle, now the Mediaeval Banqueting Hall, and from time to time, she has been seen outside the present Castle. Her story continues..."THE HISTORY of RUTHIN CASTLE. |

Nope I didn't see "her". After about taking photographs all over the place, not a single thing showed on the photos. No "orbs", no "mists", no "fuzzy anything" but roaming around the castle was a real hoot. The 12 "Gorsedd Standing Stones",near the castle, n, was nice but walking around Stonehenge for about 2 hours was breathtaking, especially at sunset. |

Shame the tour is not going back to the castle. Seems too many comlained about it being "too rustic", as in lacking a/c during the summer months, based on what I was recently told. |
