A Tale From Our Native American Friends

An Elderly Grandfather was teaching his two young Grandsons a story about our innerselves. He explained to his two young Grandsons that within all people live two Great Wolves who are always at war with one another.

"The first wolf", the Grandfather explained, "is filled with rage, anger, envy, and a bitter nature. He is unhappy, and can cause great harm. The second Wolf, is kind, loyal, protective, and filled with a gentle mercy".

His two Grandsons sat for a moment and finally the elder Grandson spoke "Grandpa", he asked in a worried tone, "Which Wolf will win?".

His Grandfather quietly replied "The one that you feed".

*********

I apologize because I cannot remember off-hand the tribe from which this story came. But, it gave me chills.
